The residents come first...

There's much more to residence halls at Michigan than just "room and board."  They really are communities, places for socializing and relaxing, for meeting people and forging friendships. As a member of a residence hall community, you will be invited to participate in non-stop social activities ranging from house socials to intramural sporting events to movie screenings on the RHA Movie Channel. On weekends, you can look forward to hall dances, ice cream socials, and special events like the Monte Carlo Casino Night. Each term also brings a full schedule of RHA-sponsored forums and coffee talks on topics such as diversity, health, academics, alcohol use, and relevant global and campus issues.

Since our founding in 1956, the Residence Halls Association has helped emerging leaders develope. More student leaders start their careers in residence halls than anywhere else on campus. You have the opportunity to participate in student government in your hall by being involved with the Hall Council or becoming involved in social justice and education through your building's Multicultural Council. For those who really would like to become really involved, you have the opportunity to serve as an RHA Assembly Representative, representing your building on the campus-wide Assembly in addition to your involvement within your building.
